Digital Public Square is working to develop better support systems for victims of transnational repression. In a new op ed for The Globe and Mail, Project Lead Alexander Chipman Koty wrote about what we learned about transnational repression in Canada and how we can improve protections for diaspora communities. Our recommendation: Making vulnerable communities feel secure requires more than just strengthening law enforcement. It requires investments in services that will make affected communities confident about exercising their full rights as Canadian residents, without fear of intimidation or retribution.
